Diaper Bag

Simplicity to get you out the door exploring

The Simple System

I have gone through many systems trying to figure out what works for me. My goal is for it to be a quick, easy system and can be used across different activities like a backpack, carrier, stroller, bike ride. After having two kids, this is my favorite set up that takes me 30 seconds to check and 2 minutes to restock when needed.

The diaper bag is by Alva baby. It’s a two zipper pocket, water proof diaper bag. I use the big top zipper section for the clean items, which are diapers, wipes, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and butt paste. This is my quick check when I’m headed out the door. It’s always the same, so I can quickly scan for diapers, wipes, and three tubes. When diapers or wipes are low, I grab some from our changing area in the house and then I’m ready to go.

I can put this in the storage area of a stroller, in a section of a backpack, in a carrier, or in the car.

For diaper changes, I lay something on the ground like a spare shirt or jacket or lightweight muslin, change my babe’s diaper and then put the dirty diaper in the second smaller zippered pouch. I wrap the diaper up tightly by folding it in half, rolling it up, and then use the sticky diaper attachments to seal it tightly into a ball. If it’s a blow out, I’ll also put the poopy clothes in this section as well.

I can also fit a spare outfit in the clean big zippered pouch if I’m only bringing this bag and not another backpack.

When I wash it in the washer, I flip the dirty pocket inside out to make sure that gets the best clean.

If you have a partner, you can each have your own, so you can make your own systems. This alleviates a lot of tension and frustration between partners.

Will this simple style of diaper bag work for you? Will it ease getting out the door for you?
