Photos of Your Kids
Quick tips to enhance your daily photos
Dress your kids in color.
They will stand out against the natural background more if they are wearing colors of the rainbow. Not neon, but just colorful. You will be able to take a photo of the landscape and still see your children in the photo.
Don’t have them look at you.
Let them continue doing what they are doing. You will capture more of their true character this way. And they will most likely not get as annoyed that you are taking photos.
Want to really emphasize them in a portrait?
Put your phone in the portrait mode to blur the background.
Thirds
Our eye naturally likes things in threes. So put your child on the left or right third and include the landscape on the other two thirds. You can also put you kids right in the center for a nice portrait.
Reaction versus Action
Focus on their reaction to what is happening instead of just their action. What does this mean? If they are throwing a ball back and forth, you can take a photo of them throwing the ball. But to really enhance your photo, wait until they have a reaction - are they having fun and have a huge smile on their face? Are they having a hard time and you can see their eyebrows furrow with the concentration on their face?
